This may reduce the dependence on soy imports in Flanders<br \/>\nbe reduced. Several rations were formulated in this project. In one<br \/>\ndemo trial compared different feeding strategies. Both the technical<br \/>\npig results were examined as nutrient excretions and digestibility<br \/>\nof the feeds. The study also examined the impact of feeds on profitability,<br \/>\nenvironmental impact and soybean dependency verified. In addition, the<br \/>\nzootechnical results and slaughter quality should be comparable at two- and<br \/>\nmulti-phase power supply.<br \/>\nThe results confirm these assumptions, with the exception of the five-phase feeding.<br \/>\nWith the results of the five-phase feeding, one would see a decrease in cost and N excretion<br \/>\nexpect compared to the results of three-phase power supply. But in this trial, the<br \/>\nfeed cost and N excretion with five-phase feeding slightly higher than with three-phase feeding,<br \/>\nbut this can be explained by the specific experimental conditions.<br \/>\nThe trial shows that the use of multiphase feeding in combination with alternative<br \/>\nprotein sources in the diet of fattening pigs is certainly possible, provided that these<br \/>\nalternative protein sources are sufficiently available.<br \/>\nApart from some anomalous values at 95 kg and 110 kg, we can say that a<br \/>\nSwitching from two-phase power supply to 3 or more phases can help in the<br \/>\nreduction in mineral (nitrogen) excretions. For the anomalous values at 95 kg and 110<br \/>\nkg there is no logical explanation. The occurrence of abnormal values happens more often<br \/>\nsince there is always an influence of specific experimental conditions.<br \/>\nIn general, expectations are met on most practice farms. The<br \/>\nbiggest expectation of pig farmers was a fall in feed cost price. The<br \/>\nHowever, results appear to be highly variable. On some farms, there appeared to be a strong<br \/>\ndecrease in feed costs without compromising on animal results. Other<br \/>\nfarms, however, showed an increase in feed costs.<br \/>\nOn most farms, there is not a big difference in N-excretion and therefore not met<br \/>\nto expectations that N excretion will decrease with increasing number of phases. But because the<br \/>\nanimals achieve a specific growth curve and feed intake in each round, there can actually be<br \/>\nno exact comparison can be carried out.<br \/>\nThe results are promising on some farms. But to really form a decision<br \/>\nabout the new system and to make a proper comparison, several<br \/>\nrounds to be followed up. In addition, the new systems should further<br \/>\nbe optimised to the farm situation and the farmer should also be more<br \/>\nfamiliarise yourself with the system to get the optimal result<br \/>\nPhase feeding in practice is thus certainly feasible and can contribute to further<br \/>\nPig farming optimisation.<\/p>","protected":false},"featured_media":2319,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"site-sidebar-layout":"default","site-content-layout":"default","ast-site-content-layout":"default","site-content-style":"default","site-sidebar-style":"default","ast-global-header-display":"","ast-banner-title-visibility":"","ast-main-header-display":"","ast-hfb-above-header-display":"","ast-hfb-below-header-display":"","ast-hfb-mobile-header-display":"","site-post-title":"","ast-breadcrumbs-content":"","ast-featured-img":"","footer-sml-layout":"","ast-disable-related-posts":"","theme-transparent-header-meta":"default","adv-header-id-meta":"","stick-header-meta":"","header-above-stick-meta":"","header-main-stick-meta":"","header-below-stick-meta":"","astra-migrate-meta-layouts":"set","ast-page-background-enabled":"default","ast-page-background-meta":{"desktop":{"background-color":"","background-image":"","background-repeat":"repeat","background-position":"center center","background-size":"auto","background-attachment":"scroll","background-type":"","background-media":"","overlay-type":"","overlay-color":"","overlay-opacity":"","overlay-gradient":""},"tablet":{"background-color":"","background-image":"","background-repeat":"repeat","background-position":"center center","background-size":"auto","background-attachment":"scroll","background-type":"","background-media":"","overlay-type":"","overlay-color":"","overlay-opacity":"","overlay-gradient":""},"mobile":{"background-color":"","background-image":"","background-repeat":"repeat","background-position":"center center","background-size":"auto","background-attachment":"scroll","background-type":"","background-media":"","overlay-type":"","overlay-color":"","overlay-opacity":"","overlay-gradient":""}},"ast-content-background-meta":{"desktop":{"background-color":"var(--ast-global-color-5)","background-image":"","background-repeat":"repeat","background-position":"center center","background-size":"auto","background-attachment":"scroll","background-type":"","background-media":"","overlay-type":"","overlay-color":"","overlay-opacity":"","overlay-gradient":""},"tablet":{"background-color":"var(--ast-global-color-5)","background-image":"","background-repeat":"repeat","background-position":"center center","background-size":"auto","background-attachment":"scroll","background-type":"","background-media":"","overlay-type":"","overlay-color":"","overlay-opacity":"","overlay-gradient":""},"mobile":{"background-color":"var(--ast-global-color-5)","background-image":"","background-repeat":"repeat","background-position":"center center","background-size":"auto","background-attachment":"scroll","background-type":"","background-media":"","overlay-type":"","overlay-color":"","overlay-opacity":"","overlay-gradient":""}}},"categorie-projecten":[46],"class_list":["post-2316","projecten","type-projecten","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","categorie-projecten-varkens"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.pvl-vzw.be\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/projecten\/2316","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.pvl-vzw.be\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/projecten"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.pvl-vzw.be\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/projecten"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.pvl-vzw.be\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/projecten\/2316\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.pvl-vzw.be\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/2319"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.pvl-vzw.be\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=2316"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"categorie-projecten","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.pvl-vzw.be\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categorie-projecten?post=2316"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
